Fans of WWE were surprised Thursday afternoon on social media when WWE announced they were dropping the name of WWE Hall of Famer, Fabulous Moolah, from the Women's Battle Royal at WrestleMania.

Thanks to a social media outrage from fans after many former female wrestlers came out with allegations of Moolah financially and sexually exploiting them to move ahead in her career, WWE has changed the name of the match to "WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal."

As fans rejoiced on social media, the question now goes from "Can they put somebody else's name?" to "Who could be the one WWE honors instead?"

I decided to name five former female WWE personalities that WWE might choose to name the Battle Royal.

Mae Young

I'm starting with an obvious one. She may have been Moolah's partner in crime during the 1990s, but WWE fans had a clear favorite between the duo in WWE Hall of Famer, Mae Young.

While most fans will remember her for her comedic antics during the Attitude Era and getting Jerry "The King" Lawler to run away, she was truly a pioneer in women's wrestling in the '40s and on. She was out there breaking barriers for females during World War II as many different territories would open their doors for Young while their male talent went out to war.

Despite that WWE has already honored her by calling the international women's tournament "The Mae Young Classic" last July, it still should be a fair choice to continue to honor the female legend through the Battle Royal at WrestleMania.

Sensational Sherri

Sherri Martel was a wrestler in AWA who became Women's Champion in 1985 and began her managerial career with "Playboy" Buddy Rose and "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers. However, fans mainly remember her as the "Sensational" Sherri and her work as a full-time manager in WWE with "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Shawn Michaels.

Providing the lyrics to now HBK's iconic theme and having a great rivalry with Miss Elizabeth during the early 1990s, Sherri helped set female managers' standards to come. Her efforts and great showing earned her a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006.

As a big name in the late '80s and early '90s, Sherri could be worthy of naming the Battle Royal after. However, the next name on the list could surpass the first two thanks to some royalty.

Miss Elizabeth

She was known as the "Princess Diana" of the WWE (at least I did if nobody else thought that). Fans in the 1990s heavily admired Miss Elizabeth during her time in WWE. The chemistry she had with her real-life partner in "Macho Man" Randy Savage at the time (whether kayfabe apart or together) was easily recognizable that had fans completely head over heels.

Of course, to add on to that, who can forget when fans were crying ringside in Los Angeles at WrestleMania VII when Elizabeth reunited with Randy Savage.

As a woman who was given the nickname "The First Lady of the World Wrestling Federation/Wrestling" during her tenure there, it's hard not to consider Miss Elizabeth a favorite among fans to name the Battle Royal after a name change takes place.

Despite not being in the WWE Hall of Fame, her elegance, kindness, and great personality in WWE are remembered by most fans, which deserves at least a consideration for the chance to honor her.

Mildred Burke

Mae Young was indeed a pioneer of women's wrestling in her prime years. However, most fans seem to forget about another pioneer in Mildred Burke.

Along with Young, Burke was also paving the way for females to come out and give the wrestling world a chance. Aside from that, she was squaring off with men in the ring and beating them one by one while quickly working her way to becoming the Women's World champion in the 1930s.

It even got to a point where the LAPD was putting up photos of Burke around their offices to try to look like her and head back to the gym.

She and Young were training Moolah before her career took off. So if you're going to replace Moolah for the title of the Battle Royal, why not have it named after the reason Moolah was in the industry in the first place?

Trish Stratus

This pick is a long shot. Not to mention, there also might be a bit of bias, knowing I'm from Toronto. But I think this pick is justified.

In an era women were remembered for their looks and antics (which had Jerry Lawler going crazy in his seat), there was one woman who stood out from the rest of the pack.

Trish Stratus was not only remembered for her looks but for her in-ring talent that took the WWE world by storm. Stratus inspired many of today's current female superstars (Mandy Rose as an example) to be where they are today. A career that involved being a 7-time WWE Women's Champion helped earned her a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.

While we hope that a prerequisite to have something named after you in WWE isn't that you must have passed away, Stratus would make an excellent choice as somebody more recent. Female superstars who Stratus inspired hope to inspire the future generation of female wrestlers to get in the ring and keep that path going.

That'll wrap it up! It's up in the air whether WWE will find a replacement name for the Battle Royal at WrestleMania. However, aside from these five, I'm sure there are many more options to pick from should they decide to honor somebody else.

For now, social media can take a breather and continue to look ahead in the women's revolution.
